Foundation Overview

Marquardt Village was founded with the vision and determination of dedicated members of the Moravian Church. We began serving residents in Watertown and surrounding communities in 1968. For more than forty years, we have provided outstanding service to hundreds of residents of various faith backgrounds. Our compassion and superior care enhances the lives of residents, family members, staff and those we serve in the community through home health, hospice and lifeline.

In 1987 we realized the need to begin a Foundation to ensure our mission would continue well into the future. The mission of the Foundation is to secure the necessary financial resources to ensure the continuation of quality healthcare services in a supportive, caring environment for the betterment of our community.

The Marquardt Foundation plays a vital role in assisting individuals who have exhausted their financial resources and can no longer pay the full cost of their care. It also provides the resources to meet the spiritual needs of our residents, and to invest in new programs and technology to maintain our high standards of care on the Marquardt campus and in the greater community. We seek funding through grants, matching gifts, community organizations, and Moravian and other churches.
The majority of our gifts come from individuals who are pleased with what Marquardt means to their family:

  • rehabilitation services at Marquardt Manor helped a father move back to his apartment
  • assistance with daily living at Zinzendorf for an aunt who routinely forgot to take her medication
  • supportive home care in Hus Apartments for a mom who could no longer clean her apartment

The need to grow our Foundation is more important than ever as the population of seniors in our community grows, the cost of health care rises, and government reimbursements dwindle. You can help us ensure security and exceptional care to future generations by making a gift to the Marquardt Foundation.
