Lifestyle

Dealing with the life-limiting disease of a loved one is one of the most difficult things any of us will ever experience in life. For dying to remain as peaceful and meaningful a process as possible for everyone involved, we believe it should be handled with dignity, compassion and sensitivity.

Marquardt Hospice finds this is best achieved by taking a holistic approach — physical, emotional and spiritual – to the support we provide terminally ill patients and their families. So we work together with the patient and an interdisciplinary hospice team to create a palliative care plan based on the patient’s needs and wishes. Determining whether that’s in a home,  setting or one of our assisted living, or skilled nursing setting residences will be a part of that plan.

Mission/Vision

Our Mission: to provide compassionate care at the end of life in a Christian environment.

Our Vision: to provide a loving supportive environment for the dying & their families by offering comfort care and specialized services to help meet physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient and family. Our philosophy of care is focused on pain and symptom management. We recognize that the intent is no longer on reversing the disease or finding a cure. We provide strong advocacy in the support of dignity, choice and quality of life.

Eligibility

Our hospice care serves patients of all ages, income, faiths and ethnicities who have:

  • An anticipated life expectancy of six months or less.
  • A treatment goal based on comfort rather than cure.
  • Any type of terminal illness including heart and lung disease, cancer, dementia, neurological disease and other life-limiting conditions.

Hospice coverage through Medicare and Medicaid provides extensive benefits that pay for medications, equipment and supplies, physician service, nurses, social workers, and other therapies that are related to the terminal illness. Most commercial insurance providers also cover hospice care. No person will ever be turned away for an inability to pay. Please ask a retirement counselor for more information.
